suddenly, after a year or so of no probs. computer won't complete boot.
nothing was changed overnight but today gets stuck with the win logo screen
showing. in safe mode it gets as far as loading agp440.sys then freezes.
tried removing agp video card and inserted trusty old pci card but doing
exactly the same.... any ideas welcome !!

thanks carey, i'll give that a try.... agp440.sys is the last line on the
screen in safe mode, not sure if that means it's completed loading and prob
is with the next one which doesn't show..
