Sudden jump in file size

He everyone,

I created a workbook that contained several charts and
some data but not that much and it was about 400k. I then
added another chunk of data (perhaps 3 worksheets with
between 100 and 500 lines of stuff) and the file size
jumped to 35MEG!

When I zip it it goes back down to about 800k...

Any ideas what is going on?

I mighjt be being silly but I can't see much about file
size there? Thanks tho :)

If Excel has set the "used" range wrong, then you will get a lot of bloat. You
need to look at "used" ranges on all your sheets, look at the complexity of the
data -- lot of formulas or just data, look at how the sheets are interacting --
are formulas linking sheets?

There isn't that much complexity in terms of the data and
formulae etc. How do I check the 'used' ranges?

Thx.

Hit CRTL + End keys any see where you wind up.

If far below and to the right of what should be the real used range, you could
have some cells that were used or formatted previously.

Then go to the posted contextures site for fixes.
