SUBTRACTING A PERCENTAGE FROM THE TOTAL

I am a new users to Access, and having dificulty trying to subtract 15% from
the weekly rent rate. I tried to go through Query Update, entered, [weekly
rate]-1.15 like the assistant suggested, but it only subtracted a dollar
fifteen from the total.

To subtract 15% wouldn't you simply multiply by .85?

[weeklyrate] * .85



Not really an Access question, just a math question.
