Subtract from Zero

I have two fields:

1. Is a daily calculation based on a linked file.
2. A budget for the daily calculation.

I have no problem creating a daily variance expression to calculate the
variance between the two. However, I am having a problem calculation a
variance when the value for 1. is zero.

For example: If the daily budget is 14 and the actual value based on the
linked file is zero, I would like for the expression to equal -14, not zero.

Any help is greatly appreciated.
