Subtitles

Hi,
I want to create subtitles for my movie.
The problem is, the "subtitles" style when adding text to video doesnt let
you change the background.

Is there any way I can get around this? I need to be able to change the
background colour. Or does anyone know of any other addins I can get? If not,
then I'll be forced to use some other forecolor such as Red, which isnt
really appropriate for subtitles.

Any response gratefully appreciated.

The problem is, the "subtitles" style when adding text to video doesnt let

What are you talking about exactly? The subtitle option selected from
the Titles and Credits, is like any other title which can either be
placed in video track as well as their own Title Overlay track...

In the Movie track there is a background color which can be edited by
selecting "Change the text font and color" option. The Blue colored
square next to the "A" under "Color" specifies the background color.

I have just verified that it can be given any color.

In the Title Overlay track the background color has no effect since
there is no background.
