Subscript Out Of Range Importing XLSX

Ok - Here is another SOOR question. I have read all the other posts and
nothing mentioned seems to fit.

I tried to import an XLSX into Access 2007 table and receive Subscript Out
Of Range error (using Import Wizard). To correct the problem, I compress and
repair the db and rerun import - works fine.

I have to do this each time I load this particular table ? Any ideas on
what to check. Why does Compress and Repair correct the problem only once ?
