Subreport page breaks

Jim

I see several posts on this topic, but I seem to be missing something and
can't get my subreports to "keep together". I have a report with 5 groups.
Each group has multiple subreports. My problem is with the subreports
starting on one page and ending on the next. I want the whole subreport to
go to the next page if it won't fit on one. I've tried changing the keep
together properties with no luck. Can anyone help?
Thanks,
Jim

There are two KeepTogether properties. One for sections and
the other for groups. Which one did you try?

What about the result of whatever you tried was not to you
liking?

Do you want each individual subreport to be kept together?
Or, do you want the collection of subreports to be kept
together?

I tried the keep together for each group. I want each individual subreport
to be kept together. It's fine if 2 or 3 fit on a page, but I'm trying to
avoid having them wrap from one page to another if possible.

If keeping an entire group together does not do what you
want, then you have to use the section KeepTogether
property. That means that each subreport that you want to
keep together must be in its own section.

You can do that by adding more groups using the same
field/expression that you are using to sort the detail
records. Select Yes for these group's Header and Footer
properties so you get two additional sections for each of
these "extra" groups. Now you can spread your subreports
across several sections and set each section's KeepTogether
property as needed.
