subquery

hi,

i created a query (qry1) in access, and saved it. then i used it within
another saved query (qry2) to link it to the table. do i need to run qry1 to
refresh it before running qry2, or is qry1 automatically run/refreshed when i
run qry2?

Your qry1 will automatically run when you use it in qry2.

I like to think of it this way.
Queries are simply a set of instructions to return records. As such the
query itself never contains any data. It only returns and displays the
data that corresponds with the set of instructions that is the query.
