Subject: some emails html and attachments displayed as ASCII

A

Asad

Hi, I'm running Outlook 2003 SP3 on Vista. Certain important emails, where I
am one of many recipients, emails/attachments and also some read receipts the
html are stripped out and the message is displayed as ASCII.

The same email appear fine on my mobile device. I can't see any firewall
or spam settings on my pc and I have reduced the span settings on webmail to
minimum. Any ideas how to correct this on my pc?

Msg appears as follows:

Known problem. This happens when you receive the message via Bcc.
Microsoft is supposed to be investigating.

Thanks Brian, however I only got these messages when I switched to Vista. My
old laptop, on good old XP, and my mobile do not destroy the emails in this
fashion.

Your comments will be appreciated.

Correct. With Windows Vista and Outlook 2003, it's a known problem. Change
either the version of Windows or the version of Outlook and the conditions
that cause it don't occur.

I'm having the same issue. I have users on Windows XP Pro SP2, Outlook 2007,
who when they BCC or CC there emails show up with ASCII Text.

Is Microsoft looking into this issue?

I don't believe that's the same issue at all.

Look into that KB:
http://support.microsoft.com/kb/951982

Maybe it will resolve your problem.
Let me know if it helped.
