Hi Brian
What version of windows do you have? If it is XP, you can't
uninstall/delete IE, as it is a core part of the XP program, and you will
lose your Windows.. However, you can reinstall it over itself, or repair it.

Download msjava from another website.
Install the msjava
Go to windows update an get the current msJava update.
Uncheck use Sun Jave in Control Panel>Internet Options>Advanced
tab. Reboot.
