Subform shows as white box in design view, why?

I have a form with a subform, the problem is that when I switch the form in
design view the subform shows as a white box and I can not see anything on it
until a double-click on it and the subform pops up. Everything works fine it
just doesn’t show in design view.

Sounds normal to me. When you've got the parent form open in design view,
all you see is the subform control where the subform will appear.
Double-clicking on the subform control makes the form indicated by the
subform control's SourceObject property pop up (as a separate window) so you
can edit it.

That is the normal behavior for A97, but don't all the newer versions show
the design view of the subform inside the subform control?

I am using Access 2003. Also, if make any difference the subform is stored in
a Tab Page.

Guess my bias shows, doesn't it? <g>

Is the SourceObject property set for the subform control, or do you perhaps
set it in code?

If you already have the subform open in design view on its own, you'll see
the white box. Close the other design view.

Also, sometimes, when you switch from Form view to Design view, subforms may
appear as white box instead of as the subform. Close the main form and
reopen it in Design view.
