subform entry makes new form record

Using Access 2003 and have a form and subform. When I enter a new record on
the subform, a new form record is created. I start with one form and no
subform entries. I enter two subform records and then the number of form
records jumps to two on the navigation buttons.

This does not happen wit myprevious form/subform applications. What am I
doing wrong?

Do you have a one-to-many relationship established between the tables for the
form and subform?

Karl

Yes there is a one to many relationship between the form (one) and subform
(many).

Sounds like your main form's Recordsource is a query that uses both
tables. It should be only the main table or a query that uses only the
main table as input.
