In sub total summary view, only columns with the subtotaled data is visible.
Is there a way to also include another column so it's also visible? Thank
you.

You could probably populate those empty cells with some kind of macro (or even
manually), but you may want to look into pivottables.

If you want to read more about the pivottable stuff, you may want to look at
some links:

Debra Dalgleish's pictures at Jon Peltier's site:
http://peltiertech.com/Excel/Pivots/pivottables.htm
And Debra's own site:
http://www.contextures.com/xlPivot01.html

John Walkenbach also has some at:
http://j-walk.com/ss/excel/files/general.htm
(look for Tony Gwynn's Hit Database)

Chip Pearson keeps Harald Staff's notes at:
http://www.cpearson.com/excel/pivots.htm

MS has some at (xl2000 and xl2002):

http://office.microsoft.com/assistance/2002/articles/xlconPT101.aspx

==========
If you show just the subtotal rows (using the outlining symbols to the left),
you can select those empty cells--and just the empty cells
Then Edit|goto|special|visible cells only

Notice the address of the activecell (in the namebox, to the left of the formula
bar).

Say it's B12.

You type =B11
and hit ctrl-enter.

Those empty visible cells will be filled with a formula that refers to the cell
directly above each.

Use the outlining symbols to show the results.

(select the columns and copy|paste special|values if you want (and don't have
any other formulas you care about in those columns.)

Debra Dalgleish explains a variation of this (with pictures!) at:
http://www.contextures.com/xlDataEntry02.html
