sub Total

I need to use the sub total function in a way so that the
rows showing sub total are on a sepeprate sheet rather
than on the same sheet as the data.

eg.

if the sorted records are on sheet1 & when i apply sub
total to them by column "A" the result of the subtotals
should show on sheet2. it is not important that the result
is also shown on the sheet1 as normal or not.

also if possible can some one tell me how can we view the
code of the built in functions of excel & access.
