sub reports based on parameter query

I have created a report based on a parameter query and a sub-report within
the main report based on a seperate but related parameter query. When I run
the report I am initially asked to enter the parameter data for both queries.
As I advance the report to the next interation of the report it asks me for
the parameter data for the subreport and does this with each iteration in the
main report. Does anyone know why this is happening?

Each instance of the report re-runs the query. This is one of the best
reasons to abandon parameter queries in favor of getting criteria from
