Sub - Report inheriting the Where clause

How can I have a sub-report inherit the "where" clause used on the
OpenReport method?

I asked this differently before, but this is my basic question. The "main
report" is properly being filtered --- but the subreport is not being
filtered.

The only method that I use is to to place the criteria in the record source
of the subreport. This can be done with references to controls on forms or
changing the SQL proeperty of a saved query.

How are you linking the two reports? If the field being filtered on the main
report is used as part of the link to the subreport, the results should be
what you need.
