stupid q but,,, view docs by date ,,,, NOT by modification

If you got the title of the post you got the q. i need to
have the documents in one file sorted by date, but XP
refuses and only does it by modification. Help me with
this small but bothersome problem?

Not sure if this answers your question, but I'll take a
shot...

I'm not quite sure what you mean by "documents in one
file", so I'm assuming you mean different document files.

First, open Windows Explorer. Go to the "View" menu and
choose "Details". Your files will now be shown as a
vertical list in the right pane. Next, go to the "View"
menu and select "Choose Details...". Click on the check
box labeled "Date Created". Now the vertical list will
include a column for the creation date, as well as the
last modified date. Click on the title bar of the "Date
Created" column to sort in order of creation date.
