stuck mail in outlook 2003

Any email i have edited since trying unsuccessfully to send seems to
be somehow stuck in Outlook. When I now try to send any message it
reports it is sending one message more than is in my outbox and then
times out. As its not showing in my Outbox i can't do as MS help
suggests and delete it, cos i can't get to it to delete... any
suggestions?

reported error 0x8004421ob operation timed out waiting for response
from sending smtp server...

I'm sure i had this once before and it basically messed up the whole
of outlook for ages. Its a case that there is some 'message' that
won't send but also cannot be deleted because i cannot find it to
delete.

Grrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr.....

Another way to go might be to recreate your mail profile in Control Panel->
Mail-> button Show Profiles...
