stuck in READ ONLY -

File stuck in read only ; Access MDB on new Oem release of XP Pro ; set to
share, set guest rights , set directory and file to non read only via GUI
and then via attrib , installed all current patches for this fine OS , read
MS info on how to solve problem ,.NOTHING works ; have 15 years of
professional consulting and have never seen anything so silly ; am about to
wipe HD and install - WIN 98 ? WIN 3.1 ? DOS 6.2 ?

Could it be that the file is set for read only (locked) through Microsoft
Access. It may also be password protected (don't know if Access can do
that). If it is, you will have to change it through Access.

I really find it funny when "knowledgeable?" people blame the operating
system when the fault is their lack of knowledge of the PROGRAM they are
using!

Blame Microsoft for the CTKID (chair-to-keyboard interface deficiency)! Way
to go!
