Stray entry out of order on report

I have a report that is set to sort and group on two fields (DEPT1 and
DEPT2); which functions correctly - but there is one stray entry that begins
with "R" as the first record...this appears before the DEPT1's beginning with
"A" thru "Q"...

This "R" item also does not appear where it should in its correct position
in the report;

Can any one tell me why this is happening and how to correct it?

Thanks much in advance...

As a guess, there is a space before the "R" So the Dept is sorting
before the others.

" Radium" will sort before "Asphalt"
"Radium" will sort after "Asphalt"

Please disregard this post, I figured out what happened;

Somehow DEPT1 for the record in question was trashed; Once this was fixed it
runs correctly.
