Strange XP menu background color problem

D

David

I recently bought a Toshiba P25-S477 laptop (with a 17 inch screen) with
Windows XP Pro and 512megs. Great computer.

I loaded VS.NET 2003 on it and got to work developing a Windows Form
application in C#. I added a menubar to my main form and discovered that
they menubar had a gray background but that the text was black on a white
background.

After playing around for a while I went to the control panel and switched
from Windows XP Style (Silver Color Scheme) to Windows Classic Style and
then back to the Windows XP Style.

Now the menus work as I expected with a gray backgound and text with a black
text on a gray background.

It would appear that the default color scheme for my computer wasn't setup
quite right and I somehow managed to reset it by switching the display
style.

Hope this helps others. I spent hours searching google for an answer to
this problem.

Regards,
David
