Strange white v in black circle..

There is a strange black circle with a white v replacing the windows symbol
in internet explorer.
Anyone have any ideas? The only thing different that has happend to my pc in
the last week is I
downloaded a trial version of wordperfect from tucows.com.
Surfing is very slow. Any ideas are appreciated.
