Strange sound

Hello Win XP Newusers Forum:

An unfamiliar (and annoying) sound (similar to that of two drumbeats) will
play on my system at periodic intervals. I have checked each one of the
sound (.wav) files associated with each program event (for all "sound
schemes") but I cannot this sound. As far as I know, none of the
applications that were running on the system triggered this sound. I would
like to know if XP has some type of "log report" that shows what sound /
application(s) the system accessed.

Any suggestions?
