Strange Shutdowns

Hi,

I just formatted my computer as things were running slow. I do this
everything 3 to 6 months.

Anyway, after getting everything back on, I was watching TV and all of a
sudden my system just shut down. I rebooted, looked around and didn't see
anything. I ran a virus scan with NAV 2004 fully updated and nothing came up.
I ran Blaster Worm tests and nothing came up. So I went to bed! When I got up
this morning my computer again had shut down but this time it restarted
itself. And it shut down about an hour after I left it.

Windows XP Pro
Norton System Works 2004
DELL P4 2.4 Ghz

Any ideas?

Cheers,
Joshua

I have a number of events and when I checked them with the Microsoft Event
Page I really didn't see anything causing too many problems or at least what
is affecting me.

Disable "Automatic Restart"

Start>Run and enter

sysdm.cpl

go to "advance">startup and recovery"settings

uncheck "Automatic Restart"

this will give you more debugging info when it occurs again.

OK! I did turn that off about an hour ago and so I guess we will just wait
and see what happens. Hopefully we are learn more. LOL
