Strange keyboard layout when logging on to domain

we have two different types of laptop (1, iridium running xp pro 2, sony viao
running win2000)
they work fine until they log in to our win2000 network. Then the righ hand
side of the keyboard all changes. the letters all become numbers.

how could this be fixed?
it is not the keyboard launguage settings

Answered in Win2000.General. Please do not multi-post, as
it wastes everybody's time. Post in appropriate newsgroups -
your question relates to hardware and has nothing to do with
networking.
