Strange Kerberos error

C

Chris

Im getting following errors in Event Log. Any ideas how to deal with that?
Machine is windows2003, running as member of w2k AD.
Machine accounts are not identical for sure and error repeates with many
machines names

Event Type: Error
Event Source: Kerberos
Event Category: None
Event ID: 4
Date: 2004-01-13
Time: 11:19:56
User: N/A
Computer: AAAA
Description:
The kerberos client received a KRB_AP_ERR_MODIFIED error from the server
BBBB$. The target name used was cifs/BBBB.domain.com. This indicates that
the password used to encrypt the kerberos service ticket is different than
that on the target server. Commonly, this is due to identically named
machine accounts in the target realm (DOMAIN.COM), and the client realm.
Please contact your system administrator.

Hi Chris,

On the DC that has this error, try resetting the secure channel using the
article listed below:
288167 Error Message "Target Principal Name is Incorrect" When Manually
http://support.microsoft.com/?id=288167

Also, if you have more than one nic in this machine please test disabling
it.

Also make sure we do not have duplicate names on the network.

Thank you.

Diana.
