I've been using Access 2000 for about 2-3 years, first on Windows 98 and
this year on Windows XP. Created a new database last week, added the
library MS DAO 3.6 Object Library, and have been having problems:
"Error accessing file. Network connection may have been lost."
(this when I try to type in code behind a form)
and
"Undefined function 'AppLoadString' in expression."
(when I try to add a command button to form)
I've exited Access & rebooted, done Compact & Repair, done scan disk,
deleted Access & reinstalled, created another new database & exported
the files from the problem one (now new db has same problems).

Any help that you can offer will be most welcome! Thank you.

Hello, Wayne,
Thank you for your prompt response! That writeup does explain that it's
a known problem. I guess there isn't really any cure. Since I have the
"bad" version of Vbe6.dll, I should *never* import from or export to
another Access program. So I've deleted the new databases and hope to
type it all in again. At least I have a printout. (Just hope I haven't
ruined the big older database that I've been working on for some time!)
