Strange DNS problem on W2k Pro

I have a PC that cannot access internal or external websites, but I'm able to
ping the IP address of those websites. I've tried replacing the NIC card,
using a different IP address and different DNS servers. I also checked and
verified that the DNS client service is running.
Any ideas?

Well, what happens when you ping the domain name? If it resolves the name,
but you get a request timed out, DNS is working. If you get a host not
found error, then you may have strange hosts file entries or some kind of
proxy or Internet security software blocking these sites.

Doug,
I can ping the server name, but if I try to ping servername.company.com it
comes back unknown. Also, I tried pulling up an HP printer management page
(http://192.168.2.20), and it couldn't find it either even though I can ping
192.168.2.20 from the cmd prompt.
Thanks for the response,
Carlton.
