Stopping the Wav FIle for email alerts

Hi, My project is to setup my email alert sound to a long
alarm beeping wav file that is long enough so that i can
hear it if i'm busy in another room of the house (certain
emails demand that i respond immediately so can't be
missed), here are some finer points i'm trying to tweak,
would love some help -

1. I am trying to find a long wav file of an alarm sound
(which has been hard enough as it is) but what i also want
is the ability to TURN THE WAV FILE OFF once I get to the
computer instead of having to listen to the whole thing,
even when i open the email, the wav file keeps playing

2. What would be even more awesome would be able to make
it only play the wav file when recieving the email from
CERTAIN SENDERS, in other words, i don't want the alarm to
go off unless the email is from an important client (i.e
certain senders)

any help would be vastly appreciated!

This site has a plug in for MS Outlook (not Outlook Express?) that can be
set to play a sound only when email from people on a list is recieved. It's
intended as a spam filter but might do what you want..

this feature, you can turn off Outlook's sound option, and only hear a sound
when its a Trusted new email".

Hi Ralph,

To increase the maximum recording time in the Sound Recorder utility:

Make sure your microphone is muted so it will not pick up sound.
Click Record, and then let Sound Recorder run for 60 seconds.
After Sound Recorder stops recording, click Save As on the File menu, and
name the file Blank.wav.

You can repeat this step once for each additional minute of recording time
that you want to add. For example, for a 5-minute recording time, insert the
Blank.wav file five times.

Then modify your incoming mail setting to point to the extended wav file.
