Stopping new records

How do I get a form to stop allowing new records off of a query?
I still need to be able to edit the query results in this form but do not
want a new record to be added.

In the data tab of the form's popperty sheet, set Allow Additions to No

For both responses above. I did this earlier and just did it again. For
some reason it still allows the addition of a new record. The arrow-star
still shows up on the bar also. I tried this and it for some reason
continually fails. That's why I ask. Is there a glitch (bug) or something?
