Stop Windows Explorer from loading on system bootup

After a user did some ill-advised tinkering, now Windows Explorer
loads on system bootup, exploring "C:\windows\system32".

This only occurs on 1 of 3 user accounts. This account is set to the
"Classic Windows look" whereas the other 2 have the WinXP look.

I *think* the trouble started when the user tried to drag items from
the "Favorites" list of the Classic user account to his account using
Windows Explorer: IOW dragging items from "C:\Documents and
Settings\ClassicName\Favorites" to "C:\Documents and
Settings\WinXPName\Favorites".

The only other system modifications made during that time were my
experimentations with themes on the above-mentioned Classic account.

I haven't noticed anything in the startup folders. How can I solve
this problem?

Thanks,

Kent

Wesley,

Thanks for the quick reply. After I posted the question, I kept
searching for the solution and I discovered your first link, which did
not address the problem. I then discovered http://www.annoyances.org/
and found the SB Audigy 2 Startup Menu", "/L:ENG" issue and that was
my problem.

I viewed the script file for which you supplied the link and noticed
that the issue was addressed therein. Thanks for sending that link.
Had I not found the above site, it would have been a life-saver.

Are there any other software-specific probs like this floating around
out there for which you can preemptively point me toward the solution?

Also, which Creative program causes this registry problem?

Thank you again,

Kent

Kent,

Kelly's script looks for SB Audigy 2 Startup Menu value in
HKCU\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Run
This is a real common problem with Dell machines that have an OEM version of
the Sound Blaster Audigy 2 sound card. But it isn't the only thing that
causes the System32 folder to open at startup.

Here are a few.
