Hi, I have win xp home, p4, 3g cpu with 1g ram and norton internet
security 2006. I have an nvidia geforce fx 5200 graphics card with an
updated driver.

How can I stop most of the 89 processes that are running on my pc and
keep only the ones that I need? I am trying to edit video using adobe
premiere elements v2 but there is a 6sec delay between pressing the
play button and the video playing. I am told that there are apps out
there that will stop the process's that are not being used? enditall2
was one mentioned but that seems to be outdated. I do monitor the % of
the cpu that is used but that shows system idle = 90% and PE2 = 10% or
readings similar to that...

Thanks in advance,

FergusF

Download Spybot & adaware, install, and scan for spyware.

Hi PC U,

I am a long time user of spybot and adaware and I also use microsofts
beta spyware product. I just got an answer from the adobe user forum
that has sorted my problem out. Adobe was playing the video through my
camcorder via firewire and back to my pc monitor so when I disconnected
the firewire my delay disappeared.

I am still interested in stopping unnecessary processes from running
though, 89 processes seems a lot? maybe its not.

thanks for your prompt help,

FergusF
