How do i stop word tracking changes?

I occasionally get a student who has switch on 'track changes' and before
long their document is littered with red tracking - but although i switch of
the tracking - i can't find anyway to get rid of it

any clues?

Turning off Track Changes doesn't remove the markup. You must also Accept
All Changes in Document.

There are at least two options. The first is just to turn off the tracking
and then accept all changes. That gets rid of all the tracking, but it loses
all the history of what has been done to the document. That can be either a
good or a bad thing.

The second option is to set your computer to just not "see" the tracking.
Go to Tools - Options - Track Changes and set Additions to "(none)" and set
Deletions to "Hidden." This makes the document look clean, but keeps the
history of changes that have been tracked from past revisions.

I hope one of these options helps.
