I want to keep the track changes(preferably the old style with both underline
and strile through) but stop the annoying little box flashing up that shows
who made the chages and when. I do not want that information transmitted to
other reviewers of my documnets. I only want them to see the changes made.

Hi =?Utf-8?B?aGVyaXRhZ2Vhcg==?=,

What you can do depends on the version of Word you're working with, which you
unfortunately neglect to mention. If it's 2002, not 2003, then you can't do it.
If it's 2003, look in Tools/Options/Save for the option about removing personal
information.

thanks for that. I have 2002, so I have to upgrade to 2003. another fine
microsoft expense. I wish I had never migrated from word perfect which is
1000 times better than word will ever be.
