please stop or reduce some threads with subjects as numerous votings,
multires, slogans, private OT discussions etc. leading the NG back to
the roots with more meaning about freeware programs discussions. THX!

Be fair, it's a very valid point, and he's entitled to make it.

I don't go as far as to killfile the committee discussions, as I have a lot
of respect for some of the protagonists.

(A long discussion followed - to quote my minuting days).

And Peter's as entitled to his POV as you, _and_ me. (Or is it _I_?)

Why not take ALL of that kind of stuff and put it in discussion
groups on the Pricelessware site(s) then those who are passionate
about it can have their say and leave this NG to discussing freeware.

It's "I" ...as entitled to his POV as I (am.) And I've found some of
those "committee discussions" to be quite engaging- I love a good debate,
and some of those threads have a very thoughtful point-counterpoint flow
to them.

In Agent/Free Agent, you can choose to ignore a thread by hitting the
'i' key while reading a message in that thread. Perhaps your
newsreader has a similar feature. If not, Free Agent is available at
www.forteinc.com

And in Mozilla or Netscape (and I assume Thunderbird) hit 'k' to "kill"
the thread.

that's great !!!!
Hadn't spotted that in Firebird, but it works :)

And in IE, I just highlite the thread and hit delete. Course you may have
to for a couple weeks but it does work. '-)
