I really need some help. I have recently had to reformat
my hd with Win98. I have been trying to upgrade it back
to WinXP, but when XP reboots, it gives me a blue screen
and a Stop error code 0x0000007B. I have not recently
installed anything new, and I have scanned everything
possible for any type or trace of virus. I have been to
the HCL for any updated drivers, and I have not tried to
move XP to a different drive. I'm stumped. The message
also tells me that after I have checked everything else, I
should run chkdsk /f; it doesn't work.

Any suggestions?

Hi

See if the following link to MVP Jim Eshelman's web page helps:
