Hi, I've gotten this error messge 3 times now. Also, my computer freezes
after 20 minutes of being on. I also can not hotsync my pda and the printer
is not recognized.

I got the blue screen, something about a driver, and this:
stop: 0x0000001e (0xc00000005, 0xeec9474d, 0x00000000, 0x0000011c)
kmode_exception_not_handled

I have since defraged, uninstalled and installed the software for the pda
and printer. Both are not recogized. I'm assuming there's something wrong
with the USB. The pda is plugged in the back of the computer, the printer in
the front. I also tried to print a large photo the other day and the
printer hasn't worked since. I can't remember if the hotsnyc stopped working
on the same day or not. Also, I updated all drivers for the USB ports.
Nothing is helping.

Will leaving the computer on 24/7 harm anything?

Any help is GREATLY appreciated.

The "something about a driver" part is the most important part of the
error message! It should tell us or at least give us a good clue as to
why the error occurs or where to start looking anyway. Other than that
look at this:

Or post back and tell us what driver is causing the error.

Yes, I understand that. When I recieved the error, I was more concerned with
writing the error code down than anything. I don't think it specfically said
which drive it was. I did go to that link before I posted here. I tried to
do what the link states, but I don't know which drive the code is referring
to.

Is there a way to have the blue screen appear again?

I also checked the device manager and all components are working properly.

Ericka fumbled, fiddled and fingered:

It would help if you could mention what driver it is reporting as at
fault.

Plenty of ways to make "blue screens" appear, I'm not sure you want any
of us starting to advise on that! :-) The next time the error appears
make note of the xxx.sys file. In the meantime maybe the error has
cured itself. Take a look in the Event log and see if any errors are
showing in there. There might be a memory .dmp file on your drive that
would have recorded the error, but these files are a bit cryptic to
decipher, you'll need debug tools to read the file.

Ok, I got the blue screen again. Here's what it said, this time the code
changed a bit.

I turned the computer off, waited, turned it on. I got the blue screen
again, same error msg.

***STOP: 0x0000001E (0xC0000005, 0xEEC9099D, 0x00000000, 0x0000000C)
KMODE_EXCEPTION_NOT_HANDLED

If this is the first time you've seen this Stop error screen, restart the
computer. If this screen appears again, follow these steps:

Check to be sure you have adequate disk space. If a driver is identified in
the stop message, disable the driver or check with the manufacturer for
driver updates. Try changing the video adapters.

Check with your hardware vendor for any BIOS updates. Disable the BIOS
memory options such as caching or shadowing. IF you need to use safe mode to
remove or disable the components, restart your computer, press F8 to select
advanced startup options, and then select safe mode.

Refer to your getting started manual for more information on troubleshooting
stop errors.

I spoke to my helpdesk at work. He suggested to go to safe mode. I did then
got blue screen. He said to take out one ram then turn on the pc. When I
did that, the monitor was blank. It was on. So later a friend suggested
unplugging a card, the jumper, IDE cable, etc, then turning the pc on, then
plug the item back in. I did so to each item individually. Still, blank
screen. I connect the monitor to my working laptop, it works fine. Could
the motherboard be bad? Time for a new computer?

Hi Ericka,
This could be or could not be a hardware issue. First of all, I would advice
to update your drivers for mouse and video card. Then, wait for sometime. If
it still happens, update all the drivers on your box and see the difference.
Even then, if the problem is not resolved, contact your hardware manufacturer
as stop 0x0000001e could be because of incompatible drivers or faulty
hardware.
