stop error 000021a

From reading the support pages at Microsoft, the only reference to this stop
error points to Symnatec "PC Anywhere" but we have never installed any
Symnatec product. Nor is there any indication of one of their products on the
system at all. A full virus scan comes up with nothing. What could have
caused this otherwise healthy system to develop this error upon bootup?
