Stop copying but allow use

This is possibly a simple question but I am going to
install a prog. on a machine. This prog. uses some data
files that I do not want anyone to copy off the machine
but anybody needs to be able to use the program which uses
the data IYSWIM.

I would like to make the program RUN as a particular user
and protect the data files so only that user can read
them. Would this work and if so how.

Many thanks

Look into File Permissions.. NTFS file permissions. Look into File
Security.
You could make it where only one user, one group, etc has access to this
file. It could be stored anywhere you wanted as long as you can set the
NTFS file permissions on it. Either the file or directory would need to
have the permissions changed on it.
