stop automatically adding a contact

Issue with Outlook 2003 w/contact mgr loaded :-(
IN Out. Exp. you could stop or start the auto saving of contacts.

I no longer want Outlook to automatically save a contact. IOW: I want to
manually enter a contact.

Thanks :)

Are they actually getting saved to contacts? If so, you have a 3rd party
addin doing it. If it's just in the autocomplete cache that you see when you
start typing an address, tools options, email options, advanced options...
the suggest names options.

MY OUTLOOK 2003 also automatically adds the contact info. I just installed outlook 2003 on a full new formated hard drive with a fresh load of xp a few month ago and it is driving me nuts. I have several hundred contacts that I care nothing about. In the old outlook, you can shut off the automatic adding with reply in the email preferences. Where is this off switch in outlook 2003?

No such "feature" exists. Provide credible evidence to the contrary. I see
none so far. Perhaps you are confused by the autocompletion cache.

Adds the contact info where? It's not at all clear what your issue is.
