When opening media w/ WMP 9.0, or surfing w/ IE6 I get a
stop code 0x000000D1..."IRQL NOT LESS OR EQUAL"...date
stamp 3rf80945-symdns.sys

This started after Windows Auto Update

Uninstalled Norton Internet Security, (because of
symdns.sys) but got same problem.
Can't find anything but instructions to download SP4 which
I have.

Rename symdns.sys and reboot the machine.

Thanks for the post, but I'm still getting crashes after
the rename and reboot. I wonder if another error is
involved, because I only get a blue screen occaisionally.
Usually the system just restarts without a blue screen or
error message, so I don't know what's going on.

Random crashes are usually associated with hardware
failures, e.g. overheating or poor connections.

Installed Sp4 a long time ago, the Update was just a few
days ago.
