I'm having trouble with periodic STOP 0x0000000A on my Netfinity 7100 (average is 1-2 per month). Started happening in February 2004 after running for several years w/o a problem. The start date coincides with upgrading my ServeRAID drivers to 6.11. Have been through support with IBM, but they are starting to run out of ideas.

The full error is:

STOP 0x0000000A (0x00000004,0x0000001C,0x00000001,0x8042FB8E)

Address 8042FB8E base at 80400000, Date Stamp 403d35e2 - ntoskrnl.exe

One strange thing: Although I have the server configured to do a kernel dump (it has too much memory for a full dump), no dump is ever taken.

I haven't seen an exact match for this error string in the news groups or resource kit -- any suggestions for tracking this down further would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks,

Jonathan

I checked this one, but it mentions that the first parameter should be a memory address. It's unlikely (but I suppose possible) that someone is trying to access 0x00000004.
http://support.microsoft.com?kbid=245538 "'STOP 0x0000000A' Error Message While

Not using Rcmdsvc.exe
http://support.microsoft.com?kbid=276409 "Hotfix from Q259545 causes 'Stop

The error is from Ntoskrnl.exe, not from Disk.sys. Also, I'm not using any of the devices mentiond.
http://support.microsoft.com?kbid=276504 "'Stop 0x0A' Error Message When You

Not using NAV 7 or the CD drive when it happens.
http://support.microsoft.com?kbid=288602 "Windows Setup Stops Responding with
the VIA Apollo KX133 Chip Set"

Not running setup or the VIA Apollo KX133 Chip Set.
http://support.microsoft.com?kbid=315377 "A 'Stop 0x0000000a' Error Occurs After

Don't have a scanner.
http://support.microsoft.com?kbid=816054 "'STOP 0x0000000a' Error Message During
the Dynamics.exe Process in Great Plains 7.5"

Not running Great Plains. Also, the error is in Ntoskrnl.exe, not Ntkrnlmp.exe
http://support.microsoft.com?kbid=833993 "'Stop 0x1E' 'Stop 0x0a' or 'Stop 0x50'
error message when IopReleaseFileObjectLock[] accesses a freed file object in
Windows 2000"

This one is possible, but there's not enough detail to know if it's biting me -- I wish Microsoft had included some sample parameters.

How can I tell if one of the applications I'm running has called IopReleaseFileObjectLock?

I'm a bit reluctant to apply this hotfix unless I can understand whether it's biting me...

Regards,

Jonathan
