Stop: 0x000000D1 error

A

Alex

Problem Description: I'm getting blue screen with message
'Stop: 0x000000D1(0xE32E9040, 0X000000FF, 0x0000001,
0xE9CBB7AC) DRIVER_IRQL_NOT_LESS_OR_EQUAL
*** Address E9CB7AC base at E9CB6000 DateStamp 3ecd5361 -
mrxsmb.sys
Beginning dump of physical memory.'

I'm getting this error every time when my DSL connection
started and I'm performing Internet browsing
or email check. It can happen right away or after several
minutes working online. I do not have any problem if I'm
not online.
I've already installed Service Pack 4 but it did not help.
What else I can do?

The first thing that I would do would be to obtain the latest hotfix that
has mrxsmb.sys (See article 823747)

have you gone through the stuff at support.microsoft.com for win2k? do an
advanced search for windows 2000 to search for mrxsmb and there is this one:
http://support.microsoft.com/default.aspx?scid=kb;en-us;816036&Product=win2000
searching for 0xd1 gives a bunch of apparently unrelated things, but looking
at some of them might give you some ideas. in general the irql_not_less
_or_equal stops are usually driver errors, check that you have all the
latest windows updates and service packs, and that you have the latest
drivers for your network card/modem.
