Is there a way to trace windows that is installed on a
recently stolen computer in hopes of finding the theif?

No, but the more identifiable information you have, the easier it is for the
police to identify the computer if they find it. It also makes the insurance
company happier.
 
Only if you took measures ahead-of-time.
Nothing in the OS is traceable in that way.
