Stock Control system?

Hi,

I'm trying to make a stock control system for my business.

Example:
I have 30 of each product and in total I have 6 different products, each
product has its name, size and colour. And an ID.
I want to be able to enter the products ID and have it deduct one from the
stock of the relevent item. How can I do this?

Also is their a way for it to create data entries in another field when I
enter an ID?

Example:
I enter the ID for product 1 and it deducts 1 of them from my stock list. I
then want a table to display the product ID, quantity that have been taken
out, time and date.

Is it possible to set up an access system that can automatically do this?

Finally i'm sure this can be done but not 100% sure how to do it. If the
stock for one of the items is equal to or lower than say 10 can I get it to
display a pop-up box stating that stock is low for the item that meets the
requirements?

Thanks alot to anyone who can help, I'm a bit of a "n00b" when it comes to
most stuff in access.

Best regards,
Jeff

Hi,

Whats MYOB? And where can I find out some information about it?

The reason why I was looking into trying to build a system is because I cant
afford to pay for one.
Can anyone tell me how you set it up so you can deduct a certain quantity
from a total by only entering the products ID?

Jeff

"Mind Your Own Business". No, it's not a smart-ass answer, it's actually the
name of a suite of accounting applications! :) See the following URL ...

afford to pay for one.

That's realy not a very good reason, as if you put any kind of realistic
value on your time (and you should, as it is time you could otherwise spend
on more profitable activities) building your own system will cost many, many
times more than buying one.

If you haven't already done so, check out what Allen Browne has to say about
inventory control at the following URL ...

Thanks for the replys,

After reading that topic about creating a stock control system I think I may
be better off purchasing one.
Ive been to that MYOB website but can seem to find any type of stock control
system. They only seem to have things for accounts.

Let me guess - you, like me, do not live and work in North America, right? !
:)

Try searching the MYOB site for 'inventory control' instead of 'stock
control' and you'll get lots of hits.
