Still trouble with Excel 2007 on Vista

My laptop came with a trail copy of Office 2003. When it expired I purchased
the full version of Office 2007 (mistake-the toolbar is a nightmare). When I
uninstalled office 2003 from the computer I began receiving file errors in
Excel. If I select a file created in 2003 or 2007 the computer says it cannot
find the file I just selected. I can however, open Excel and select open and
choose the file and the file opens fine. Is there anyway to fix this, it is
annoying.

Now when I get an attachment in email I have to download it to open it. I am
running Vista Premium, office 2007.

Hi,

Order of installation sometimes causes problems. Since it sounds like 2003
is off, I would uninstall 2007 and then reinstall it.

Generally you minimize problems by uninstalling the previous version first
and then installing the later version or by responding to the install program
by telling it to remove previous versions.

It sounds like there is a file association problem, you can reset that in
Windows.

I have tried uninstalling 2007 and reinstalling it and it has not helped.
Anything else I can do?
