Yes, Doris.

How come the Unbutu forums have itn their Main Support Categories
(213,538 Threads) (1,007,545 Posts)?

Probably because responders there are much more polite and less snotty
than many here.

When/if Linux achieves the same status as Windows, the game as inferred
by the last paragraph will come into play..

" Of course this doesn't mean that there can never be a Linux virus
epidemic.[2] It does mean, however, that a successful Linux virus must
be well-crafted and innovative to succeed in the inhospitable Linux
ecosystem. "

Mike, I don't disagree that a widespread epidemic COULD happen. What I
am saying and have been saying is that the opportunity to create an
animal that could cause such an epidemic has existed for a long time. I
will not guess at the number of linux users vs windows users, but I will
hazard a guess that there are now and have been for some time enough
linux users to cause a motivated coder to create some type of
"well-crafted and innovative" malware for both bragging rights and
monetary gain. I just don't agree with the opinion that numbers and
numbers alone are the reason linux isn't a target.

Nah...you've got that all wrong. The size of the target is most important.
If a hacker says "i hacked into an open source linux distro" you think
he has any bragging rights? Who cares? They'll just laugh at him!
But If he says "i just hacked into a bank of server 2003's", then he's
king of hill!
Frank
First, who is "they"? Secondly, are there enough server 2003's in
service to even create a bank of them? ;) All gentle jabs aside, I
believe the discussion was centered on desktops, not servers. I stand by
my comments.

Four is better.

As predicted, "side note: now michael has to count to 4, I hope he's up to
it!"
Please, elaborate.

Ok, the discussion of this supposed hack is not worth talking about. All
off topic discussions are always worth pursuing.

How was that? Damn, I was anal as hell last night, could you tell?

Oh, dear Justin, I can never be your Adam.

Be well.

Almost forgot. The fact you would reply to a message the way you did
originally:

"And yet, your name appears twice in this thread."

....means two things:

1. You seek attention.

2. You are more like adam then you think.

I would keep tight reins on that!
