Still problem running My Computer and Control Panel

I've posted this message a couple of times and tried all the fixes
suggested, So Far none have worked.

Problem: When I select My Computer or Control Panel from the start menu, The
screen will just flash and revert back to the desktop. Some of the things
I've tried are:

System Restore - Worked once then went right back to the same problem.
sfc / scannow - Ran as administrator in DOS mode and Windows, Didn't work
Hot Fix 929637 - It didn't install properly and didn't work.
Service , Run as Administrator then shut off Software License and restart. -
Didn't work.

Any other suggestion would be appreciated.

Thanks
Dick

I have this same trouble. Try copy/paste the following to a .txt file

@net stop "Software Licensing"
@net start "Software Licensing"

Then rename it to what ever you want ( I use tempfix.bat) and plant it on
your desktop. The suffix has to be changed from .txt to .bat . After that
just click it and type yes at the prompt. Will stop and restart software
licensing which fixes the problem on the short term.

Good idea to bug it to MS too so they know there are a few million folks out
there having this trouble.

Another option is to hit start in the search box type "services.msc" and
click on it. Dig through the window that pops up until you find "software
licensing" highlight and hit restart.

Either works, just one is easier.

Thanks Steve , I tried the copy and save as a Bat file on the desktop. Ran
the file then tried to access the computer and had the same results. Just a
flash then back to the desktop.

Someone suggested it was a hardrive problem, Seems strange but since the
computer is new only 1 month old, I may have to take it back and replace it.

Maybe I'll wait for the SP1 and hope it will correct this bug.

Thanks

It's not going to save you. You should just get it over with, format the HD
and reinstall the O/S
