I was never able to use the first movie maker, as the
program would just exit whenever I tried to use titles or
transitions. I downloaded WMM2 hoping that would solve
my problem, but no go. Does anyone know how I can fix
this issue? Thanks

There are small program fragments called codecs. Some of these codecs
are known to cause problems with movie maker. I have written a small
program that gives you the opportunity to temporarily rename these
codecs....and after using Movie Maker to restore them to their original
file names....the programme "rename Codecs" is available for download or
to be run over the Internet from the downloads section of my website.

I had the same problem. Every time I tried to use a video transition or video effect the program would just shut down by itself. I checked PapaJohn's website and did what he suggested and it worked !! I renamed the divXAF.ax file in the Windows/System32 folder in order to disable that file. Then I turned down the Hardware Acceleration setting to the 3rd notch on the scale. Right click on the desktop > properties > settings tab > advanced > troubleshoot > move the slider to the 3rd mark right of None setting. Worked for me !! thanks PapaJohn.....you dah man !!

Hi there,

I am glad that you found the suggestions on that site were of use to
you...even though the owner of that site did not come up with most of
them...in fact several of the important ones are mine....they are the ones
with no names against them. Its called plagiarism....other call it theft. I
call it "What a Laugh"

What a wally you are...Papajohn just collects info and puts it on his website...do you realy believe he came up with all that stuff?

If you had to turn down the hardware acceleration on your computer do you know what that means??? It means that the parts that make up your computer are incompatible. If your happy running on three cylinders instead of six, well thats just great.

If you take the time to look at papajohns website you will find that it is in the most part a collection of opinions put together as a result of guesswork that turned out with a result. The result is placed on a website together with some dis-jointed comments and the result is accepted as GREAT...trouble is...your computer is now only running on three cyclinders (whats that like?...perhaps you should have stayed with a 286 or maybe a 386 LOL it would have been a lot less trouble

And you said, "thanks PapaJohn.....you dah man" Well he must be if the best he can offer you is to get you to run your system at a real slow pace and still think he is "dah man

Have a real GREAT day, with your slow computer...................

Wow!!! Lets see, you opened up a directory on windows XP that is marked by default so that it will not display its contents, you change that feature which is meant to stop people "Messing Around", you then went in there and changed the name of one of the protected files and therby rendered the program that uses that file USELESS. Then you went to the TROUBLESHOOTING page (Getting the message yet) and slowed down all of your graphics to just three notches above NO ACCELERATION and you thinks thats OK??? I have a deal here I can interest you in its a small IBM home computer, Its ever so good can I sell it to you for $8,000.00 ??? REALLY its ever so good, honest. Well lets see here, it probably runs faster than yours, so what do you think
