Still Can't Get Access to Folders & Contents

When I couldn'y get a "Security" tab when right-clicking
to get to "Properties" so I could change the 'owner' of
the folder, I went to Doug Knox's website and got the
instructions on how to download program so that the tab
would show. That worked, but I can't get the process to
work so that all subfolders, files, etc. of the folder
also change permission when I change permission to the
folder. I've tried using the "set, view, change, or
remove special permissions for files and folders", and
that helped with folders, but not subfolders, files.

Any further help?

From a previous post, he's running XP Home, Jupiter, so EFS isn't an issue.

Thank you Doug.
I just double checked.
"I've moved a hard drive from a WIN XP PC, to another WIN XP PC"
Were both computers Windows XP Home or was the original Windows XP
Pro?
Only Darryl knows.

Both PCs run XP Home. I don't see encryption, but the
files are compressed. When I try to uncompress, I get the
"access denied" pop-up.
